Vidauban

Lovely stay in Provence

It was the first time we were renting in Provence and it was a lovely experience. The property was well appointed, and clean, but most of all the owners were so friendly and helpful with suggestions, directions, etc.... The garden was well taken care of as was the pool and both were so enjoyable in the hot weather. To wake up in the morning looking at the Luberon mountains in the background was a real treat. We were welcomed with organic olive oil from the family's olive grove and fresh homemade fruit confitures. Caroline's mother was so nice and brought us a homemade lemon cake one day and more of her wonderful jams. Caroline brought us some freshly picked white peaches from their orchard which were absolutely delicious. The location in the village of Robion was very convenient and easy to get to, had all the stores we needed (pharmacy, stationery/newspapers store, butcher/caterer, boulangerie, vegetable and fruit market and a local mini market). And the town of Coustellet, a short drive away, offers a huge supermarket which has everything imaginable. We enjoyed the Sunday morning farmer's market there. It is well worth visiting. Also Robion is not far from other must see villages like Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Gordes, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. We recommend this property for a couple of a small family.

Such a great stay here in June 2022

Smart and comfortable villa with heated pool during a heatwave on a strawberry farm in June! Absolutely perfect! Very friendly and helpful support from Nathalie. Very good location for both town and countryside, we couldn’t have hoped for better.

Chez Christelle

The Ultimate Experience in Provence

There were so many wonderful parts of staying at Chez Christelle. I kept saying "if the walls could talk", I can only imagine the stories since 1850. The chateau and grounds are lovely and provide a very special experience that will never be forgotten. As a cook, I was so very appreciative of high end appliances in the kitchen. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and despite very hot temperatures, the fans in each room helped us to stay comfortable as we slept. I do regret that when I booked the Chez Christelle before COVID, my sons were all coming to join me. I felt it sad that there were only 3 of us to enjoy the home. Christel was so lovely in helping us when we had an issue with the hot water heater. We did miss meeting her in person. The "welcome" book, wine, strawberries and candy were such kind gifts; so very appreciated. Having stayed in many higher end AirB&B's across the world, I hope the following suggestions are helpful in renting this property going forward: The woman that checked us in and out did not speak ANY English. It was very difficult to communicate with her, and we could not get answers to our questions as a result. As a side note: I signed up for French classes when we arrived home 2 days ago! Provence Holidays did have a representative call, but when I called back and left a message, a return call was not made. I did not hear from anyone again in the 2 weeks I was there. I do want to mention that over the 2 years I was waiting to visit, Simon and the other agents at Provence Holidays were AMAZING! I so very much appreciated their help and the opportunity to keep my reservation for such a lengthy time period. Other rentals I have been in have included: paper towels, new bath soaps ( they were used here), plastic wrap, baggies and trash bags. The Kitchen dish soap was watered down and not full and there were only 3 dishwashing tabs left for us. Additionally, it would have been wonderful to have been given the "heads up" on the mosquito issue. We were all bitten rather badly right away. We did not come prepared with insect repellant. Our temperatures reached 103 degrees, so obviously this issue is a summer one. We had to go to the large market immediately the next morning for all of these supplies. We needed instructions for both the stovetop and microwave. A history of the chateau in the welcome book would have been a wonderful addition. We were so curious. At check out, we were told there would be a "walk through" and an "inventory" taken; I asked what this was for as I had never experienced it with other rentals; I was not given a response. We would have better prepared for this if we had known what to do. In addition to instructions at check out for trash removal, I think it would be helpful to give instructions on what to do with the linens as well. Also, we weren't sure if we should have run the dishwasher. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to others and once again, will never forget the most amazing time we had there. I hope that I might return again as well.

Tastefully decorated house with a secluded heated pool

A well laid out and tastefully decorated house, full of sculptures and paintings the work of owners Chloe and Eric. The spacious kitchen / lounge and one of the bedrooms opens onto a secluded terrace with a large heated pool and a backdrop of a steep bank of pine trees and natural flora including cacti, sage, rosemary etc., leading up to the wild Alpilles. Another two bedrooms open onto a covered terrace facing the village but with views as far as Tarascon, and there’s a fourth bedroom upstairs with balconies overlooking both the pool and the village. All four bedrooms with spacious private showers or baths, all with AC. Impeccably maintained, everything looked new with no evidence of wear or tear. The pool was cleaned early every morning before we got up - that’s a good measure of the owners’ attention to detail. This is a lovely part of Provence that we have visited many times. Highly recommended.

Fabulous woodland setting

A beautifully presented villa in a fabulous woodland setting. Glorious outdoor spaces along with a charming, characterful house with all the amenties you could ask for. We have stayed in a lot of villas, but this is one of the best.

A perfect Villa for Grandparents parents and grand

Hutchinson

A beautiful villa, with very attractive furniture, lots of places to sit inside and out, tables inside and outside big enough to seat 20 people. 5 bathrooms and a large heated pool. The village is a 10/15 minute walk away with good shops and restaurants. We all loved the house and were very comfortable. Our Grandson on the morning we were leaving went to each room to say goodbye. To the owner and to Provence holidays who were so very helpful, thank you.

Spring in Provence

The home was in great condition. The grass was burnt and could have used the irrigation system. Not sure if the irrigation systems is on all grounds or just a small part, but we did not see it working.

Beautiful villa in a private location

The villa was lovely, lots of space both inside and outside with the pool being a real bonus in the hot weather. The villa is at the end of a private lane and has total privacy. The location was stated as being walking distance to Gordes - the village centre is 1.5miles away and all uphill, so ok if you don't mind the exercise; we had bikes with us so it was a bit more accessible. The booking process and communication throughout was excellent. The villa was very clean(apart from the BBQ which had not been emptied) and the friendly pool cleaner came mid way through the week aswell. Suggestion for arrival procedure is to include the keycode on welcome email.

Pam

A rental property which felt like a real home

Very well -equipped, comfortable house and superb pool with plenty of pool 'toys'. The pool would have benefited from being accessible barefoot from the house. Not enough lighting generally in the house so difficult to read at night. We had two plumbing problems which were very quickly sorted out by M. Paumard. Wonderful perfume from lime flowers and broom. However, if we had arrived half an hour later the house would have been occupied by another couple as the person meeting us did not know the names of who was coming. The couple who had turned up shortly before us mistakenly thought they were staying at Le Mas de Charla! All's well that ends well.

A lovely house and grounds.

The house is large with enough bathrooms and toilets for a big family group with children. It is beautifully furnished with a kitchen with lots of utensils. We were a large family group with some young children and the swimming pool was brilliant and safe, fenced off and with an alarm. St Didier is pretty and is within walking distance. We have had a very memorable holiday and would love to return.

Staggering beauty, tree-lined hilltop in Provence

This villa was spectacular. The surrounding vineyards, shaded hilltop location, and outdoor living spaces made it one of a kind. It was perfect for a multi-generational family retreat and our family will be forever grateful for out time together in this place. The rustic authenticity of the structure, it's near perfect siting on an absolutely gorgeous piece of property, and it's tasteful internal upgrades made it unique. Many thanks to Simon and Provence Holidays for putting this on our radar!

Lovely home to explore Les Alpilles!

Fabulous home for our three families with college-aged children to relax in and enjoy, while exploring Les Alpilles for the week. Overall, the house was spacious, comfortable and clean with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. We spent most of our time outside - eating breakfast and dinner in the covered porch area and hanging out by the pool, admiring the splendid landscaping and lovely garden. Short drive to St Remy de Provence and other towns, it made for a great home from which to explore the wonderful Les Alpilles area. Concierge and handyman were very responsive to the small issues (wifi, clogged drain). Highly recommend!
