Meet Megan - our Head of Marketing and the creative mind behind the Provence Holidays online magazine.
Based in the snowy peaks of Méribel, she regularly swaps ski boots for sandals as she heads south to immerse herself in all things Provence. “For all things marketing and content, I’ve truly immersed myself in the beautiful world of Provence over the last year and a half,” she says. “Writing about such a beautiful place is a dream, really.”
“I’d love to help lead the next stage for Provence Holidays - expanding into the Alps. Watch this space..."
Megan grew up in the UK but holds three passports - Irish, British, and American - which set the tone early for a life shaped by travel and cultural curiosity. A nature enthusiast at heart, she’s always been drawn to wide-open landscapes, from snow-capped mountains to sunny coastlines. Her parents fell in love with the French Alps and bought a small flat in Méribel when she was just eight years old. “I spent so much time in my childhood exploring the mountaings” she says. “And as it happened my partner in my 20's had a flat in Provence -in Sainte-Maxime - so every summer was split between the mountains and the sea. I fell in love with both.”
With a passion for skiing, art, and anything outdoors, Megan naturally gravitated toward a creative role that allowed her to stay connected to the landscapes she loves most. So when she was approached to work on the magazine launch for Provence Holidays, it was an easy yes. “More excuses to go to Provence, sure!". A lifelong traveller with a background in remote work and storytelling, Megan has explored much of the world - “Japan, Sri Lanka and the Philippines were all highlights, and I’m excited to experience and work from Bali soon.” Now based in France and learning the language, Megan sees her future firmly rooted here. “I’d love to help lead the next stage for Provence Holidays - expanding into the Alps. Megan's journey learning about Provence
As the editor behind many of our most-read stories, Megan is always uncovering new corners of Provence - each article deepening her connection to the region.
“I was completely blown away by the Menton Lemon Festival. I never knew it existed, and it has to be one of the coolest and most unique-to-Provence things I’ve ever seen - and had the pleasure of writing about.”
Held each year on the French-Italian border, the Menton Lemon Festival is a bold and beautiful celebration featuring towering sculptures made entirely from citrus fruit, lively parades, and a buzzing Mediterranean atmosphere.

Another wonderful find? The coastal town of Hyères. “I had never heard of Hyères, and now it’s top of my list. The Porquerolles and Hyères area are like a gold mine filled with beautiful Mediterranean treasure. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful places.” Hyères is one of the oldest resort towns on the French Riviera, known for its palm-lined boulevards, colourful old town, and proximity to the Îles d’Or - especially the island of Porquerolles, with its crystal-clear waters, protected landscapes, and car-free charm. Between its laid-back pace, energetic markets, and access to stunning coastal trails, Hyères feels like a secret slice of the Côte d’Azur that still belongs to the locals.

And if you think Provence is just a summer destination, think again. “Like most people, before writing for Provence Holidays I never really thought about winter on the Riviera. But locals love it - the temperatures can still be mild, and there’s so much to do.” With fewer crowds and a gentler pace, winter in Provence offers a different kind of magic. Coastal towns like Nice, Antibes, and Cassis remain lively, with local markets, seafront cafés, and crisp coastal walks still very much on the agenda. Inland, villages light up for the festive season, and the scent of woodsmoke and winter pastries fills the air.

"One of my favourite things about being the magazine editor is reading all the recipes from our incredible chefs. I absolutely love cooking - and these dishes are genuinely delicious. The seven-hour lamb with carrot purée has officially become my go-to dinner party dish. It has earned me serious kudos (twice!) since we published it, and it never fails to impress. It is rich, comforting, and surprisingly simple to prepare - perfect for a cosy evening with friends, preferably with a glass of red from Châteauneuf-du-Pape."
“Writing about Provence has made me fall in love with the region even more - its food, its landscapes, and all the unexpected stories waiting to be told. It’s a joy to discover and share it through the magazine.”
Property spotlight | Bastide de la Combe
Mont Ventoux | 15 people | 7 bedrooms | 6 bathrooms
“I love that it backs onto a vineyard - I absolutely LOVE the driveway - it feels so grand and luxurious. The pastel blue shutters transport you back in time, and the trees lining the property are just incredible. Every single part of this property is exceptional. If you’re a big group especially, I genuinely don’t think you can do much better than this.”
This expansive bastide is ideal for hosting large groups with style - offering elegance, space, and total immersion in the Provençal countryside.
Recommended experience | Carrières de Lumières, Les Baux-de-Provence
“I’m a bit of a budding artist, and I love anything bright and beautiful - so of course the Carrières de Lumières is my go-to experience. I fell in love with the display and particularly where it’s located. These huge caves are honestly just jaw-dropping, and the fact that this exhibit is inside them is even more crazy. It completely took my breath away.” Set in an old stone quarry near Les Baux-de-Provence, this immersive digital art exhibition projects colour, music, and motion onto the massive cavern walls. “A must-visit if you’re in The Alpilles,” says Megan. “And not to mention - the drive there is absolutely breathtaking.”
Favourite place to eat in Provence | Les Terrasses de Bonnieux
“My favourite place to eat in Provence has to be Les Terrasses de Bonnieux. Right at the top of the village, it’s the perfect place for a drink or a pizza in the evening. The atmosphere was great, the pizza was delicious, and the view was absolutely to die for.” Watching the sun set over The Luberon hills while enjoying simple, well-made food makes this one of Megan’s favourite Provençal moments. “It’s such a gorgeous spot - and the sunset just made the food taste even better.”
Based in Méribel, Megan brings a fresh perspective to the region through her love of storytelling, food, travel, and nature. From uncovering hidden gems like Hyères and celebrating local traditions such as the Menton Lemon Festival, to testing out chef-created recipes (with great success at dinner parties), Megan shares her journey of discovering Provence one article at a time. With a background in global travel and a deepening connection to France, she’s helping shape the future of the magazine - one story at a time.
