Nestled in the heart of vineyards and cherry orchards, Sannes is one of the smallest villages in the Luberon, between Cucuron and La Tour-d'Aigues. Near the Mourre Nègre, the summit of the Luberon which culminates at 1,125 meters, people come to visit it for its views of rare beauty, to recharge your batteries during unforgettable walks.

What makes this village special?

Sannes is made up of farms and small hamlets and does not have a village centre. History buffs will be interested in the chapel of Saint-Pierre, a priory that dates back to the Middle Ages. It has been abandoned, restored and expanded over the centuries.

The village unearthed a Gallo-Roman necropolis between the 1st and 2nd centuries with 24 funerary urns and cremation pits with furniture, amphorae and tiles.

Hiking or cycling are very popular activities in Sannes. Small roads and paths are legion. In spring, there is a veritable festival of scents and colors thanks to the cherry orchards that surround the village.

The favorite activity of the place remains swimming. You have to go to the Etang de la Bonde, a few kilometers in the direction of La Motte-d'Aigues, to discover an extraordinary setting where it is good to recharge your batteries. You can also walk there or go fishing. This is the ideal place during the hot summer weather!

A few kilometers from Sannes, do not miss the village of Ansouis and the extraordinary Museum of Georges Mazoyer, which presents the collections and works of art of the diver and artist. Founded in 1975, it is now run with great enthusiasm by his daughter. Located in a pretty Provençal house, it exhibits shells, rocks and fish that the famous diver collected, as well as paintings, stained glass and objects created from elements found in the sea. artist can also be visited.
