Mas Charla is perfectly located between the charming Provençal town of Beaumes-de-Venise and the quaint town of Sarrians. Both towns host weekly outdoor vegetable and fruit markets, have supermarkets, bakeries and newsagents, and can be reached either by a 3-min. car trip or by a 15-min. bicycle ride (the farmhouse offers the use of 5 bicycles of various sizes). Just ten minutes away by car is the bustling market town of Carpentras and the antiques center of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The Dentelles mountains and the celebrated Mt. Ventoux, both minutes drive away, offer exhilarating hiking and biking on pathways lined with thyme and rosemary. Situated in the heart of the Côte du Rhône region, this Mas is a delight for wine enthusiasts too (Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras... all at short driving distance).
The terrace has a seating area and a large table under the Maple tree that seats 8 comfortably for al fresco dining even in the autumn and winter months. The house is surrounded with vineyards.
There are five bicycles located in the garden shed for guests' use, and a game of boules for two people. A hammock is also provided which can be hung on the terrace.
This 14m x 6m heated pool is rimmed with travertine marble tiles and a red-tile roofed poolhouse has recently been added to the property. It is hidden from house view but located next to the olive grove 100m from the main house. Behind the poolhouse, on a cement-paved patio, is a competition-level pingpong table.
The pool heating cost is €150 per week extra should this be required.
The pool is open from May to September.
The interior has been recently renovated and now combines the best of gracious Provençal living with contemporary comfort. It boasts a glorious garden with a table under a shady maple tree, seating 8-10 for al fresco dining, a stone dipping pool, a fruit orchard, an olive grove, and a petanque court for playing boules. With its verdigris-shuttered windows, terracotta-tiled floors, beamed ceilings and spacious living room featuring a large stone fireplace, this is Provençal living at its best. The farmhouse sleeps four in the main house in two upstairs bedrooms, both with beamed, cathedral ceilings (equipped with ceiling fans). Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom - one equipped with a spacious shower stall and the other with a quaint, claw-foot bathtub. An attached, but independent, guest house next to the kitchen and another guest bedroom next door also have beamed cathedral ceilings equipped with ceiling fans and wrought-iron, queen-size beds. Each has an ensuite travertine-marble bathroom with spacious stainless steel showers.
This property can sleep 4 in the main house and 4 in the guest house, that is adjoined to the kitchen (ceiling fans in each room x4).
