Barbentane is a village located in the Provence region of southern France, specifically in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône. It is situated between Avignon and Arles, on the banks of the Rhône River. The village has a population of approximately 3,500 people.

Barbentane is known for its historic castle, the Château de Barbentane, which dates back to the 14th century and has been listed as a French national monument since 1948. The castle features a tower that offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The village also has a number of other historic sites and landmarks, including the Romanesque-style church of Sainte-Anne, built in the 12th century, and the Porte de l'Horloge, a gate that dates back to the 14th century and is the only remaining vestige of the medieval ramparts that once surrounded the village.

Barbentane is also known for its traditional Provençal markets, which are held every Friday morning and feature local produce, handicrafts, and other goods. The village is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and is a popular destination for wine and food enthusiasts.
